Covcheg DayZ: installation and launch guide

This page walks you through preparing Covcheg for DayZ: getting the right OBS build in place, starting the loader, pointing OBS Game capture at the game window and injecting with F5. Follow the steps in order and you finish with the menu loaded inside the game.

Read this first

  • OBS 24.0.3 is required. Uninstall any newer OBS builds before you start.
  • Do not press F5 until DayZ is running and you are in the main menu with the game window focused.

Launch

  1. Install OBS 24.0.3.
  2. Run the loader, enter your key, select DayZ and press START.
  3. Wait until the loader shows "Waiting for game", then start DayZ — do not press F5 at this point.
  4. Run OBS as administrator, add Game capture, set the mode to specific window and choose DayZ_x64.exe.
  5. Click the game window so it is focused, and while in the main menu press F5 once.

If the game asks you to change the display mode, cycle through fullscreen / borderless / windowed, apply the change and press F5 again.

Dupe notes

  1. Set the game language to English so loot names match.
  2. Run the spoofer before the loader.

Which OBS version do I need?
Exactly OBS 24.0.3. Newer builds have to be removed first, otherwise the setup will not work as described.
When exactly should I press F5?
Only after the loader shows "Waiting for game", DayZ is launched, OBS Game capture is set to the specific window DayZ_x64.exe, and you are in the game's main menu with the game window focused. Press F5 once.
How should OBS be configured?
Run OBS as administrator, add a Game capture source, switch it to specific window mode and select DayZ_x64.exe from the list.
