External Memez for Rust: setup and activation guide

This guide walks through everything needed to get External Memez running in Rust: the BIOS and Windows settings the cheat depends on, the Discord overlay configuration, disabling Defender, and launching the loader. At the end you press F2 on a Rust server and the menu opens.

Read this first

  • Start the cheat before the game, not after it.
  • Third-party anticheats and antivirus software must be uninstalled, not merely disabled.
  • In Defender Control the status must be red — if it isn't, Defender is still active and you will run into the WdFilter.sys error.

Virtualization in BIOS

Open your BIOS and turn on the virtualization options for your CPU vendor.

  1. On Intel: enable Intel Virtualization and Intel VT-d.
  2. On AMD: enable AMD-V, SVM, or Virtualization Technology.

Windows: Hyper-V

  1. Press Win + R, type optionalfeatures and press Enter.
  2. Locate Hyper-V Platform, expand it and tick every box inside to install it.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Open CMD as Administrator.
  5. Run the command: bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto

Core isolation

  1. Search Windows for “Core isolation”.
  2. Turn on Memory integrity (kernel isolation).

Remove anticheats and antivirus

Third-party anticheats and antivirus software must be removed — uninstall, not just switched off.

  1. Uninstall Faceit, GameGuard, AnticheatExpert.
  2. Uninstall Vanguard / Kaspersky, 360 Total Security, Avast.

Windows 11 registry tweak

  1. Download win11_driver_OFF.reg from https://loader.colortune.ru/win11_driver_OFF.reg — right-click the link and choose Save link as.
  2. Run the file and confirm applying it.
  3. Reboot the PC.

Install the runtime packages the cheat relies on.

Discord

  1. Open Discord Settings and go to Game Overlay.
  2. Enable the overlay and disable “Use legacy overlay”.
  3. Check that the overlay attaches to Rust; if it doesn't, switch the game to windowed or borderless window mode.

Launcher

Windows Defender has to be fully off before the loader is started.

  1. Download Defender Control v2.1: https://loader.colortune.ru/Defender%20Control%20v2.1.zip
  2. If the archive refuses to download, switch off the Defender items and SmartScreen first.
  3. Extract the archive and run DControl.
  4. Click Disable — the status indicator has to turn red.
  5. Open the launcher: https://loader.colortune.ru
  6. Type your activation key into the console and press Enter.
  7. Wait for the success message — it looks roughly like “Press f2 on the server”.
  8. Join a Rust server and press F2, then wait for the cheat to load.
  9. Press F2 again to open the menu.

Common errors

Typical messages and what to do about them.

  1. Synchronise time appears after entering the key — open Date & time and click Sync now.
  2. WdFilter.sys — go back to the Defender Control step and make sure DControl shows red / disabled.
  3. Connection error / DLL — start the loader with a VPN enabled.
  4. Close EasyAnticheat_EOS.Sys — launch the cheat before the game.
  5. Anything else — contact support.

FAQ

Which key launches the cheat and opens the menu?
Both actions use F2. On a Rust server press F2 and wait for the cheat to load; the in-game menu is opened with F2 as well.
The loader says “Close EasyAnticheat_EOS.Sys”. What now?
That message means the game was started first. Launch the cheat before the game and the error goes away.
I get a WdFilter.sys error. What does it mean?
Windows Defender is still running. Go back to the Defender Control v2.1 step, run DControl, press Disable and check that the status is red before starting the loader again.
The loader shows a Connection error or a DLL error.
Run the loader with a VPN enabled — that is the fix listed for the Connection error / DLL case.
After entering the key I see “Synchronise time”.
Open Date & time in Windows settings and click Sync now, then try the key again.
The Discord overlay doesn't attach to Rust.
In Discord Settings → Game Overlay make sure the overlay is enabled and “Use legacy overlay” is disabled. If the overlay still doesn't attach, switch Rust to windowed or borderless window mode.
