Bodycam V0.8.7: Anti-Cheat Is in Development, Not in This Patch

Bodycam's V0.8.7 notes confirm that anti-cheat work is ongoing, but the feature was held back from this release. The announcement contains no ban-wave notice or detection update.

Bodycam V0.8.7: Anti-Cheat Is in Development, Not in This Patch

What this means for cheat users

The V0.8.7 announcement does not say that an anti-cheat has launched, that bans were issued, or that detection systems were changed. The developers say anti-cheat integration is well underway, while also making clear that they chose not to ship it in this update.

That does not make any cheat risk-free; no such guarantee exists. It does mean there is no source-backed reason to claim that V0.8.7 itself introduced a new anti-cheat. Before opening the game, check the current status of Soft HUB for Bodycam. If its provider marks it as updating, under review, or unavailable, wait for a status change rather than trying to force a launch.

Changes included in V0.8.7

This release focuses on controls, match flow, and technical fixes. Team Deathmatch now ends at 75 kills instead of 50, while Deathmatch goes from 30 to 40. The map list was reordered, putting Trenches at the top.

Players also received an individual mute control, a DLSS Multi Frame Generation option, Film Grain, and the ability to clear keybinds. The update addresses several keybinding problems, including false conflict warnings and an issue where tablet input could be picked up by gameplay controls.

Scope capture now has performance, optimization, and visual-stability improvements. Lumen scaling in scoped views was adjusted as well. Other fixes cover drone audio, lobby visuals, a camera-correction animation that could obstruct the view, and gameplay issues involving Gun Game, Wingman, and bolt-action reloads.

None of those notes proves that cheat compatibility changed. A game patch can require a product review, but a public list of gameplay and visual fixes is not evidence that memory layouts, rendering hooks, or game data used by a specific product have changed. Only the product’s verified status answers that question.

Removed mode and future plans

The developers have taken Zombie Mode out of the current build while they rework it after regressions and a period of stagnation. They plan to bring the mode back for a future event, but did not give a release date.

A new Party System, economy and progression adjustments, tools against AFK players and team killing, and team switching are also described as future work. They are not part of the V0.8.7 feature set.

Launch now or wait?

If Soft HUB for Bodycam is listed as current, the announcement gives no specific anti-cheat-related reason to wait: the protection system was not included in this patch. If the product has no current status, displays an update notice, or is being checked, do not launch until its provider posts an update.

When Bodycam’s anti-cheat does arrive, its rollout should be treated as a separate status event. New protection does not automatically reveal how a given product will behave, but it does require renewed verification. For background on the different systems and their detection methods, see the anti-cheat overview.

Keep launch discipline even when a product is marked current. Do not ignore provider warnings, use unknown loaders, or download supposed fixes from random chats. The safe launch checklist covers the basic steps to take before starting the game.

FAQ

Did Bodycam add anti-cheat in V0.8.7?
No. The developers state that integration is in progress, but they deliberately did not include it in this release.
Does V0.8.7 mean Soft HUB needs an update?
The patch notes do not confirm a compatibility issue. Check the product's live status and wait if it is marked as updating, under review, or unavailable.
Can I treat this patch as risk-free because anti-cheat was delayed?
No. No cheat can be guaranteed risk-free. The announcement only shows that this particular patch does not claim to deploy the planned anti-cheat system.
