Ancient Lands: more access, lower Yellow Zone rewards
Dragonfire Patch 3 makes Small Portals in Yellow Zones substantially more common. Their average spawn time drops from 45 minutes to 15.5 minutes, the regional appearance chance rises from 25% to 33%, and the lock time falls from 15 minutes to five. Players now have 10 minutes to enter once a portal unlocks, up from eight.
The trade-off is a 30% reduction to Fame and loot from these Yellow Zone Small Portals. That reduction does not apply to Small Portals in Red or Black Zones. Those portals retain their Fame and loot levels, while gaining a higher regional appearance chance and a 10-minute entry window. Medium Portals keep their current reward levels as well.
Large Portals have a 50% higher chance of appearing and are more likely during prime times. About 10% of the value from each of four regular Drake chests has moved into the central Fire Drake chest, which also has a significantly higher chance to drop the new artifact items.
How this changes radar-driven planning
Yellow Zone portals are now a repeatable activity rather than an occasional find, but each run pays less. Red and Black Zone portals remain the higher-value opportunities, while Large Portals become more relevant to watch during busy hours.
For players using radar products such as Mason or Shack, that means revisiting route priorities rather than assuming old Yellow Zone returns still apply. Frequent portal information can help decide where to travel, but it cannot remove PvP exposure, reports, or the possibility of account penalties.
The patch also applies a brief silence when a completed portal channel is cancelled. This targets groups that cancelled after channel completion to attack another group. Keep that restriction in mind when planning exits or engagements; a third-party tool does not override game rules.
Easier encounters are not a cheat update notice
Ancient Lands mobs have reduced health and damage: 10% lower in Small and Medium Portals, and 20% lower in Large Portals. Stonebreaker Berserker’s Pulse Shock damage falls from 400 to 300, while Renowned Huntress’ Cross Fissure drops from 1350 to 1000. Small and Medium islands now require the Drake kill to finish the quest.
Maeve’s Dragon Sanctuary encounter has also been eased below 40% health. She summons two additional boulders instead of three, and the maximum number decreases from six to five. These gameplay adjustments may alter encounter pacing, but the announcement provides no technical detail connecting them to the status of Ancient or any other product.
Should you run software today?
The announcement does not mention an anti-cheat change, a ban wave, detection changes, or compatibility status for any cheat. There is no factual basis in these notes to claim either that use is safe or that an anti-cheat-related pause is required.
After a game patch, check the current status of the exact product you use and any support notices before logging in. If no status has been posted, do not guess about compatibility. Use the safe launch checklist before starting, and remember that an updated product is never a guarantee against penalties.
