Deadlock Changes Comeback Economy, Slows, and Reload Timing

Deadlock’s latest update reshapes comeback payouts and several combat timings, including slows, parries, dashes, and reloads. It does not announce an anti-cheat change, detections, or bans.

Deadlock Changes Comeback Economy, Slows, and Reload Timing

The match economy is being tightened

Deadlock has reworked parts of its comeback system. Unstable Rift comeback resist now scales during a match: it begins at 10%, gains 1% per minute, and caps at 40% by 30 minutes. The former maximum was a flat 35%.

A fixed bonus for being only slightly behind in net worth has been removed from hero-kill and Unstable Rift rewards. Comeback bounties were reduced more broadly as well. Some of the extra comeback value earned by players above the opposing team’s average net worth is now sent through the tick-gold system to the lowest two players. Guardian bounty rises by 10%, while Walker bounty rises by 5%.

Nearby heroes now receive 25% of an objective bounty rather than 30%; the remainder is split across all six players. At 20 minutes, respawn time goes from 35 to 38 seconds, without changing the later maximum values.

Slows, parries, and weapon rhythm

Movement slows have been reduced globally by roughly 20%, and ground-dash slows by roughly 10%. Slows now also apply air drag at 35% of the slow amount. The announcement names citadel_enable_slows_affect_air_drag as the convar used to toggle that drag behavior.

A parry now pauses reloading. Parrying during a normal dash cancels both the dash and its momentum, then performs the parry in place. Stuns also pause reloads instead of restarting them.

Dashes and light melee attacks no longer interrupt a gun’s cycle time. That matters most for long-cycle weapons such as Silver and Abrams. Underground-tunnel breakables now first spawn at five minutes instead of three and respawn every five minutes rather than every three.

Item adjustments affect build choices

The update changes a wide range of items. Hollow Point has a stronger Bullet Resist Reduction, Toxic Bullets gets higher Spirit scaling, and Shadow Weave now builds from Sprint Boots with more sprint speed and a shorter cooldown.

Veil Walker no longer builds from Sprint Boots, loses bonuses tied to that component, and provides less Spirit Power. Spiritual Overflow builds 35% more slowly and has reduced proc Spirit Power and Fire Rate. Fortitude, Lifestrike, and Leech were improved, while Trophy Collector, Slowing Hex, Tankbuster, and Mercurial Magnum were among the nerfed options. Stored souls in Golden Goose Egg now count toward net worth for comeback calculations.

What this means for cheat users

This is a gameplay and item patch. The supplied announcement does not mention an anti-cheat update, ban wave, detections, or the operating status of any Deadlock cheat. It is not evidence that a product is safe to run, and it is not evidence that a particular product has stopped working.

If you run Coconut for Deadlock or Clutch DMA for Deadlock, use the provider’s current product status as your decision point—not the existence of this patch alone. Do not launch an older build when post-update status has not been confirmed. Review the safe launch checklist before playing; it cannot remove ban risk, but it can prevent avoidable mistakes.

The new slow values, parry behavior, and firing cadence may change how aiming and visual-information features feel in real matches. Reassess your setup based on current gameplay and confirmed build status, not claims of guaranteed safety. For context on detections, ban waves, and behavior-related risk, see why cheats get detected.
